Meet Our Director and Founder
Hi, I’m Kelly! I am an Ontario-certified teacher with 20 years of experience in primary classrooms and special education. I’ve spent my career supporting young learners, especially those who need a little extra time, encouragement, or a different approach to thrive. In 2021, I started Kelly’s Reading Club so I could combine my expertise in neurodiversity, learning skills, and science-of-reading research into lessons that truly make a difference.
I know how heavy it can feel when your child is struggling with reading — and how much you want to help. My goal is to make that weight lighter by giving your child clear, effective instruction and the confidence to believe, “I can do this.” Every lesson is designed to help Ontario students keep up, feel proud of their progress, and grow into readers who don’t just know how to read — but actually love to read.

Book A Parent Consultation
In our FREE parent consultation, we take time to understand your child’s unique strengths, challenges, and your concerns so we can determine the best way to support their reading growth. You’ll have space to ask questions, share what you’re experiencing at home, and decide, without pressure, whether our program is the right fit for your family.

and Trial Class
Your child will participate in a fun, no-stress reading assessment followed by a detailed report that clearly explains their reading level and next steps. You’ll also experience a trial class so you can see exactly how our program works, giving your family every opportunity to decide if it feels like the right fit, with no long-term commitment.

Q & A
Have a look at our most frequently asked questions.
What if we have to cancel a class?
No problem! You can easily cancel online. You will be issued a make-up credit that is good for 90 days. You can book your make-up class online, with your child’s usual tutor, at a time that works for your family.
Do you follow the Ontario curriculum?
Yes and No :)
We use the Ontario Curriculum as a guide. We also follow the learning path from the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI), which is commonly used in Ontario schools.
The difference between the classroom and Kelly’s Reading Club is that our students can learn at their own pace. If we need to bring in additional resources to help them learn, we do it!
School is about teaching the curriculum. We are about teaching kids.
Will my child get homework?
You will receive a link to the book, poem, or passage read in the lesson so that you can practice it all week long.
You will also get a colouring sheet for your child to colour in every time they read with you. At the end of the month, you can submit the colouring sheet to win a gift certificate from a local toy or bookstore!
Do you teach French?
Oui!
We have amazing French tutors who can work with our students in both French and English. Many families opt for the most popular Reading Momentum package and do one class in English and the other class in French.
